Miss Gibbs' Third Grade
Homework
Our Weekly Homework
Reading
We suggest that every third grade reads 20-30 minutes a day. For every chapter book that is finished students have an opportunity to enter a raffle by turning in a completed book report.
Our first goal as a class is to read 100 books!
Math
Multiplication Log:
-Learning your multiplication facts is a BIG DEAL in 3rd grade in order
to help students be successful in 4th grade.
-Attached to the homework will be a multiplication sheet that will be handed out on
Monday and due Friday. There are many opportunities to practice. It is beneficial to do
one per night as part of the homework routine. This activity mirrors the activity done on
class. The more practice the better!
-Math is about accuracy, not necessarily speed. I expect this to be done correctly, not
quickly!
Due Nightly:
Math Homework:
Purpose: To practice the math skills. As a class, we review the
math homework every morning. This enables me to get the temperature of
understanding, as well as allow your child to evaluate his/her learning.
Assignment: Math homelink handout pertaining to the lesson taught that day.
Spelling Words
Students will be tested on Friday
